STORIES & TRAILS
Civil War Trail

The Civil War Trails® organization has been working with communities since 1994 to share their stories and connect visitors with small towns and big stories across six states. Hardy County has 10 such sites marked by wayfaring and interpretive signs. For more information go to civilwartrails.org.
In 2025/26, five West Virginia counties (Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Mineral & Pendleton) will be developing a regional map and related interpretive material documenting the history and impact of the Civil War on our region. As this work progresses, information will be updated on this site.
